Step Forward

In July 2007 Catholic Charities began a new self- sufficiency program called Step Forward. The program has been created to help our clients address those core poverty issues that prevent them from reaching their full potential.

The Step Forward program coordinates interviews and assesses potential Step Forward participants and discuss with the participant the clients/family’s situation, explores community resources, and develops an action plan for the client/family to begin to become self- sufficient.

Step Forward participants benefit from referral to community agencies, assistance with budgeting, developing a family plan, GED classes, or simply a caring and encouraging relationship.

Step Forward includes the 16 week course Jobs for Life.
