Making an Impact

Catholic Charities Gainesville was founded in 1975. We provide services to anyone in need regardless of race or religion within Alachua, Bradford, Dixie, Gilchrist and Levy Counties.

Financial support from community partners, individuals and local businesses allow us to touch the lives of so many people. The impact of their support shows in the joy of a family with a long awaited adoption taking home their new child, the excitement of a graduate of the Bridges program ready to begin a life of economic stability, the gratitude and relief from a single mom receiving help with emergency utilities, and the smiling face of a first grader picking up his backpack full of food for the weekend. These stories speak directly to our mission of compassion and service to people in need in our community.

Catholic Charities offers a variety of services to people in need or crisis.

*      Emergency Assistance, Weekend Hunger Backpacks and Rural Mobile Food Distribution are programs that help individuals and families who are struggling with hunger.

*        Bridges to Prosperity is a program designed to look at the root cause of poverty and help individuals learn to become self-sufficient.

*      Caring Choices Pregnancy Counseling Services offer support and advocacy for women experiencing an unintended pregnancy.

*       Our Adoption services offer assistance to all parties in the adoption process.
